Two Masterclasses for companies that want better data for better decisions

Most companies are already collecting sustainability data. Fewer are actually using it.

Carbon footprint assessments and climate risk analyses are often treated as reporting exercises. In reality, they are powerful decision-making tools. They reveal cost drivers, inefficiencies, exposure points, and opportunities for smarter investment and innovation.

Over the past few years, Sustinere has supported more than 140 organisations across the Baltics with hundreds of climate impact and risk-related assessments. One thing is clear. When the data is structured properly, it becomes a business asset rather than an obligation.

In the first quarter of 2026, Sustinere is launching two Masterclass programmes designed to help companies get real value out of this data.

Climate Risks Masterclass

Climate risk analysis becomes valuable only when it changes how decisions are made. When it affects asset strategy, investment priorities, insurance terms, and risk management. Too often, climate risks are identified but never integrated into how the business is actually run.

The Climate Risks Masterclass, taking place in February–March 2026, is designed to close that gap.

The three-session programme guides participants through the full process, from identifying material physical and transition risks to assessing their likelihood and impact, and finally embedding those risks into existing risk management and strategic frameworks.

The focus is not on creating another standalone analysis. It is on making climate risks comparable with other business risks and usable in practice. Participants learn how to move from long, abstract risk lists to prioritised insights that can inform decisions, stress testing, and long-term planning.

The final session brings a dedicated risk management perspective, showing how climate risks can be integrated into enterprise risk management rather than treated as a parallel exercise. This is particularly relevant for asset-intensive companies, financial institutions, and insurers, where climate risks increasingly influence capital allocation, exposure assessment, and resilience planning.

The outcome of the Masterclass is clarity. Participants leave with a structured approach they can apply inside their organisation, and with a clearer understanding of how climate risks affect real business choices.

Carbon Footprint Masterclass

Start using emissions data to understand costs, efficiency, and opportunities.

A carbon footprint assessment is often treated as a reporting requirement. In practice, it is a structured way to understand how resources, energy, and money move through an organisation. When done properly, it highlights inefficiencies, dependency risks, and areas where change can reduce costs or enable innovation.

The Carbon Footprint Masterclass, running in February–March 2026, is a practical training programme focused on organisational greenhouse gas accounting as a management tool.

Participants learn how to structure calculations across Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 categories, how to work with real-world data, and how to choose appropriate methods and emission factors. The training covers both consumption-based and spend-based approaches, with a strong emphasis on understanding what the numbers actually represent.

The timing is deliberate. Early in the year, most organisations are already working on their annual calculations. This allows participants to apply the methods directly to their own data, identify gaps, and refine assumptions while the work is ongoing. Questions are addressed in the context of real cases, not hypothetical examples.

The outcome is not just a number for reporting. Participants leave with clearer insight into their operations, better-quality data, and a calculation framework they can reuse and build on. For financial institutions and insurers, this data also supports portfolio analysis, exposure assessment, and more informed decision-making.

Practical by design

Both Masterclasses are built on Sustinere’s day-to-day project work. The focus is not on ideology or abstract targets, but on structure, clarity, and practical use.

Participants leave with better data, a clearer understanding of their operations, and tools they can use to support decisions, planning, and innovation.
