Three-part training series combines:
- finance fundamentals for sustainability professionals;
- learning to analyze and use practical tools to link sustainability initiatives to business and financial performance; and
- application of the ROSI framework to build strong, investment-ready business cases.
Led by Dr. Gerda Žigienė, a sustainability strategist and professor of sustainability and finance (KTU (LT); ESDES Business School (FR); Vaasa University (FI) and Els Heile-Sundkvist, Sustinere Partner and Senior Sustainability Expert.
Programme
Practical training for sustainability professionals who want to understand the financial perspective behind business decisions and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Structure of the course: gradual learning from (a) the principles of financial management and (b) “reading” of financial statements to (c) the analysis of specific cases and (d) how they integrate into the company’s financial results and create value.

Learning how to translate sustainability initiatives into specific financial effects by connecting them to cost, revenue, risk, and capital drivers. Participants will practise mapping sustainability actions to specific financial statement lines to make their business impact visible and measurable.

Dr. Gerda Žigienė
Sustainability strategist and professor of sustainability and finance
Dr. Gerda Žigienė is an experienced sustainability strategist and professor of sustainability and finance (KTU (Lithuania); ESDES Business School (France); Vaasa University (Finland). She is also an expert of the National Sustainability and Responsibility Index and board member at Lithuanian Responsible Business Association (LAVA).
Gerda advises organizations on sustainability strategy, transformation, and EU regulations and supports financial analysis of sustainability projects.
Els Heile-Sundkvist
Sustinere Partner and Senior Sustainability Expert
Els Heile-Sundkvist is an experienced sustainability and ESG expert specializing in sustainable finance, climate transition, and corporate sustainability strategy. She holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from Lund University and is a Certified Expert in Sustainable Finance from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
She advises organizations in the finance, infrastructure and utilities, public, and manufacturing sectors on sustainability strategy, climate transition, and ESG integration.
